Book and Bake Sale Rocked!
12/09/16
The Summit County Friends of the Library Annual Book and Bake Sale was a tremendous success. This pre-holiday sale included baked goods from our friends, staff and volunteers of Summit County Library. We had cookies and cakes and cupcakes galore. Thank you to all who baked desserts and sweets to share with our hungry shoppers.
The sale occurred on Friday, Dec. 2 and again on Saturday, Dec. 3 in the Buffalo Mountain and Mount Royal rooms at the Frisco County Commons. Thirty-seven volunteers donated almost 140 hours to set up the rooms with books for the sale, to operate the sale on both days and to close down the sale on Saturday afternoon. We are grateful for the many volunteers and their tireless strength and energy!
When the sale ended on Saturday the final number of revenue totaled $5,489. The Friends of the Library are grateful for the local residents and visitors who made their holiday wish lists complete. We also owe our gratitude to the Roads and Bridges workers who set up the electronic sign on Route 9. Thank you! We know the sign brought additional shoppers to the sale. We also think the extended operating hours on Friday contributed to this generous outpouring of purchases.
With these funds the Friends of the Library can continue to sponsor programs and events at the Main Library in Frisco and at the North Branch Library in Silverthorne and at the South Branch Library in Breckenridge. Thank you again and again for supporting your library and we look forward to seeing you at the next Friends of the Library Book Sale in the spring.
