Teen Writing Contest Winners
08/12/20
The theme for Summer Reading Program 2020 was "Imagine Your Story." To coincide with this theme, Summit County Library held a Teen Creative Writing Contest through the month of July. Teens, grades 6-12th, were asked to submit a fantasy story of up to 5,000 words. Fantasy is a genre of fiction that concentrates on imaginary elements (the fantastic). This can mean magic, the supernatural, alternate worlds, superheroes, monsters, fairies, magical creatures, mythological heroes—essentially anything that an author can imagine outside of reality.
We were extremely pleased to receive 10 entries for the 2020 Summit County Teen Writing Contest. Each and every submission was fantastic!
They really blew all of our judges away. The level of creativity, writing, and voice in these stories amazed us. It can be incredibly challenging to submit your writing to a contest. Our three judges could tell that all the contestants put a lot of time and effort into their stories. After agonizing over who should get 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place, they finally picked three as the best of the ten.
Here are the results of the 2020 Summit County Teen Writing Contest.
