Books, Movies & More
Looking for something good to read, watch or listen to? We’ve got you covered! Get some ideas from one of the following booklists or “DIY” it and search our online catalog. Don’t forget, we also have ebooks and audiobooks you can download directly to your phone, tablet or computer!
Programs & Events
Grab your friends and come to the library. Each branch has a room or space just for teens to hang out or attend one of our programs & events. From book clubs to free movies, technology, creative writing, crafts and more, there’s something for everyone. Have an idea for a program? Email Rose Neel at Rosemary.Neel@summitcountyco.gov
Current and Future Events
September 25, 2018 4:30 pm – 5:30 pm
Location: South Branch Library, 103 S. Harris St., Breckenridge, CO
Our Teen Advisory Board is seeking new members! Join TAB to develop your leadership skills, earn community service hours and help create the library you want to see! Pick what goes into the collection, what events happen, and the fate of the group as a whole. We want your ideas and will provide snacks. Bring a friend! (Meet in the downstairs Discovery room)
October 7–13, 2018
Location: North Branch Library, 651 Center Circle, Silverthorne, CO
Teen Read Week is October 7-13! We will be celebrating this week by giving away an edible "book" craft! Teens can make an edible book with a mini chocolate candy bar and fruit roll up! It's silly but cute (and delicious)!
October 9, 2018 3:30 pm – 6:00 pm
Location: The Drop - Summit County Teen Center, 037 Peak One Drive Frisco, CO 80443
We invite all 6th-12th graders to join us for a showing of the movie 'Coco' and a Dia de los Muertos party, with crafts, food, and drink in the Drop Teen Center! The center is downstairs from the Main library in the County Commons building in Frisco. Open to all teens in Summit County!
Do you want to give back to your community or gain job experience? Teens volunteer their time and earn community service hours at the library.
Teen Advisory Board (TAB)
A great way to do this is by joining TAB (Teen Advisory Board). TAB members help plan library events and give input on what they’d like at the South Branch library. Click Here for information about TAB.
Teens can also volunteer their time by doing various tasks at any of our three branches. Volunteer duties may include things like helping with children's programs, preparing crafts, cleaning, recycling and shelving. Click Here for information about volunteering.
Don't Forget Your Homework
We have more than just books to help you ace those pesky school assignments! Our Resources for Students page has lots of research options you can use any time (including the middle of the night when your paper is due the next day.) All you need is your library card. The Main Branch in Frisco and the South Branch in Breckenridge have study rooms you can use and you can even check out stuff like Chromebooks, iPads, video equipment and more at the South Branch.
