Summit Reads Announces its 2017 Community Book Choice

The 2017 Summit Reads Community Project returns for a seventh year with events and a book discussion focused on the book, Show Me All Your Scars: True Stories of Living with Mental Illness, edited by Lee Gutkind.
The series will kick off with a speaker presentation on mental health awareness. Two presenters will share information on the topic. The speakers are Betsy Casey and Gini Bradley. Join us on March 7 at 5:30 pm in the Colorado Mountain College Breckenridge’s lobby for a Meet and Greet followed by the presentation in the Eileen and Paul Finkel auditorium at 6 pm.
“Summit Reads continues its focus on topics that interest Summit County residents in choosing our 2017 community book,” said Joyce Dierauer, Summit Reads member and Summit County Library Executive Director. “This year we chose mental health and Show Me All Your Scars as the 2017 book,” Dierauer added. “We are extremely pleased that Betsy will share her personal story and Gini will discuss the history and future plans for the non-profit organization, Building Hope Summit County,” she said.
Other events planned for the community book choice include:
- March 14 at10 am Book Discussion led by Nancy Karklins, Next Page Books and Nosh, Frisco
- March 22 at 6 pm Mental Health Wellness Panel, North Branch Library, Blue River Room, Silverthorne
- April 3 at 6 pm NAMI Education Night: Crisis Services, South Branch Library, Hopefull/Discovery Rooms, Breckenridge
