Exciting changes at Summit County Library!

Self -Checkout Machines have arrived!
What you need to know:
You may have noticed changes going on the last few weeks at your local Summit County Library branch. Get excited! We’re introducing some great new services that will help streamline your experience and make your visits even more enjoyable.
You may now pick up your own holds from the hold shelf. Each library has moved the location of their shelf to be accessible to patrons. Our new hold slips list the first 3 digits of your last name on top, the first 3 digits of your first name below and the last 4 digits of your telephone number. They are alphabetized on the shelf by last name.
Our three locations in Breckenridge, Frisco and Silverthorne have self check-out machines up and ready to go.
After checking out your own materials, you then have the option to print a receipt with the due dates or not.
Please ask a staff member if you need any assistance. We are happy to help.
Using the account feature on the self-check, you are now able to check your account and see if you have any overdue items. You can renew your items yourself, but lost or damaged items will need to be paid by check, cash or credit card at the circulation desk.
A big thank you to the Summit County Library Foundation for funding the purchase of these machines!
In order to use self-check, we are asking all patrons to bring their card or card number with them when they come to the library. (This includes curbside pickup.) If you’ve misplaced your card, it will cost you $2.50 to get a brand new one.
Another option, if you do not like to carry cards in your wallet, is the free Stocard Mobile Wallet app. This app will save your frequently used cards in one easy to access place on your phone. Watch a how-to video on how to use the Stocard app here.
Please note: Library staff will no longer be calling individuals to remind them when their holds are about to expire and be sent back to their home library.
Once holds arrive at Summit County Library they are only held for 7 days for pickup and then must be cancelled and returned to their home library. If you are concerned about keeping track of your holds and when they arrive, we recommend signing up for Shoutbomb, a free text message service offered through Summit County Library. Shoutbomb sends you several reminders when holds arrive at the library for you, when items are due back and gives you an easy way to renew items.
