Summit County Library wants to Raise the Roof Through National Library Week
April 15 - 29, 2023
April will be an exciting month for all Summit County libraries, and staff want to invite everyone to join in the celebration. Summit County Library will be raising money for the Owl’s Nest children’s space in the new North Branch Library. The Read to Raise the Roof Fundraising Challenge will run from April 15-29, 2023, overlapping National Library Week from April 24-29, 2023.
Library staff are challenging the community to read and raise $5,000 before April 29. The dual reading and donation challenge will see community members attempt to achieve their personal reading goal while competing to raise the most money. The first donation earns readers a button. Achieving a reading goal earns a free cookie from Colorado Marketplace and Bakery in Bluebird Market. The 10th donation earns an Author’s Circle tote bag. And the participant who brings in the most donations at the end of the two weeks will win a gift card plus a special, age appropriate gift from the Summit County Library.

From April 24-29, as the fundraising challenge comes to a close, all Summit County libraries will celebrate National Library Week. The theme for 2023 is "There's More to This Story" and there are more to libraries than just books. Library staff invite everyone to come and experience all Summit County Library can offer. Early literacy and junior programs, adult book clubs, tech and job search help and more are available for free.
