The Friends of the Library meet the second Wednesday of each month (except book sale months) at 5:30 pm in the Buffalo Mountain Room at the County Commons building in Frisco. We discuss fundraising events, programs and various opportunities to support our library. Contact the Friends president, Mark, or Treasurer, Janet, for more information. Everyone is welcome!

The Friends of the Library hosts three large book sales per year in April, August and December in the Buffalo Mountain and Mt. Royal Rooms at the County Commons building in Frisco. In addition, the South Branch library holds a mini-book sale annually in July. All three libraries have ongoing book sales with all funds going to the Friends of the Library.

The Friends is a nonprofit all-volunteer group originally organized in Summit County in 1960 and incorporated in 1977. The status of 501(c)3 was obtained in October 1978.

Mission Statement

  • To increase public awareness, use, and support of libraries.
  • To provide financial assistance by purchasing special items in support of library programs.
  • To sponsor programs designed to add to the cultural life of Summit County.

The Friends sponsor programs throughout the year, including special children's events, visiting authors, contests and a travel slideshow series in the Blue River Room of the North Branch Library in the winter. The Friends also fund the Teen Summer Reading Program and Adult Reading Programs at all three library locations.

Contact any library location for details on any of these programs or check our Upcoming Events.

Volunteers are always needed and greatly appreciated. We have on site volunteer opportunities and numerous times available. For more info call: 970-668-5555.
