The Friends of the Library meet the second Wednesday of each month (except book sale months) at 5:30 pm in the Buffalo Mountain Room at the County Commons building in Frisco. We discuss fundraising events, programs and various opportunities to support our library. Contact the Friends president, Janet for more information. Everyone is welcome!
All three library locations have ongoing book sales with all funds going to the Friends of the Library.
The Friends is a nonprofit all-volunteer group originally organized in Summit County in 1960 and incorporated in 1977. The status of 501(c)3 was obtained in October 1978.
Through advocacy, funding, and volunteer support, The Friends assists the Summit County Libraries in fulfilling its mission of giving everyone in our community a welcoming environment and opportunities to search, connect, and enjoy lifelong learning.
The Friends sponsor programs throughout the year, including special children's events, visiting authors, contests and a travel slideshow series in the winter. The Friends also fund the 1000 Books Before Kindergarten, Teen Summer Reading Program and Adult Programs at all three library locations.
Volunteers are always needed and greatly appreciated. We have on site volunteer opportunities and numerous times available. For more info email Janet.
