The Summit County Library offers a variety of children and teen programs and resources at our three locations.
All library programs are free and everyone is welcome.
Stream & Download for Children and Teens
Summit County Library is thrilled to offer convenient 24/7 remote access to ebooks, eaudiobooks, online magazines, and streaming video for children and teens. You can use these titles on various devices such as Kindles, iPhones, iPads, Android tablets, laptops and more.

Library Cards for Children and Teens
Parents and guardians can sign children birth - 18 years old up for their own youth library card. Access an application available here or come in to fill one out.

New Children's Books

Join our early literacy program for children 0-5! It's simple: read 1000 books together with your child before Kindergarten. This program is happening year-round at all three Summit County Libraries. Learn more about the program and see our 2020-2021 graduates here.

Reading Tips for Parents
StoryBlocks.org: StoryBlocks.org is a collection of 30-60 second videos designed to model to parents and caregivers, songs, rhymes, and fingerplays appropriate for early childhood. Each video clip includes helpful early literacy tips to promote understanding of child development and pre-literacy needs.

Looking for something good to read, watch or listen to? We’ve got you covered! Get ideas from Goodreads Young Adult or search our online catalog.
Check out this list of tough topics with their corresponding Dewy Decimal numbers, so you can search for books you might be afraid to ask about on your own.
Don’t forget, we also have ebooks, eaudiobooks, emagazines and video you can stream or download directly to your phone, tablet or computer!
Don't Forget Your Homework
We have more than just books to help you ace those pesky school assignments! Our Resources for Students page has lots of research options you can use any time (including the middle of the night when your paper is due the next day.) All you need is your library card.
The Main Library in Frisco and the South Branch in Breckenridge have study rooms you can reserve and you can even check out stuff like Chromebooks, iPads, video equipment and more at the South Branch.

Volunteering
Do you want to give back to your community or gain job experience? Teens volunteer their time and earn community service hours at the library. Time can be used for IB Credit, National Honor Society, working off library fines, or community service.
Teen Advisory Board (TAB)
A great way to do this is by joining TAB (Teen Advisory Board). TAB members help plan library events and give input on what they’d like offered for teens the South Branch library.
Other Opportunities
Teens can volunteer their time by doing various tasks at any of our three branches. Volunteer duties may include things like helping with events, children's programs, creating displays, preparing crafts, cleaning, recycling and shelving. Email Shayne to volunteer at theSouth Branch in Breckenridge, Christina to volunteer at the Main Library in Frisco or the North Branch in Silverthorne.
