New Teen Books

Books, Movies & More

Looking for something good to read, watch or listen to? We’ve got you covered! Get ideas from Goodreads Young Adult  or search our online catalog.

Check out this list of tough topics with their corresponding Dewy Decimal numbers, so you can search for books you might be afraid to ask about on your own.

Don’t forget, we also have ebooks, eaudiobooks, emagazines and video you can stream or download directly to your phone, tablet or computer!

Colorado Blue Spruce Award Logo

The Colorado Blue Spruce Young Adult Book Award (Blue Spruce Award) has been recognizing the most popular books among middle and high school students in the State of Colorado since 1985.

See the 2019 winner here and vote for your favorite 2020 Blue Spruce Award Nominee here.

Volunteering

Do you want to give back to your community or gain job experience? Teens volunteer their time and earn community service hours at the library. Time can be used for IB Credit, National Honor Society, working off library fines, or community service.

Teen Advisory Board (TAB)

A great way to do this is by joining TAB (Teen Advisory Board). TAB members help plan library events and give input on what they’d like offered for teens the South Branch library.

Other Opportunities

Teens can also volunteer their time by doing various tasks at any of our three branches. Volunteer duties may include things like helping with events and children's programs, creating displays, preparing crafts, cleaning, recycling and shelving. Email Kaeli for information about volunteering at South Branch in Breckenridge and Marissa to volunteer at the Main Library in Frisco.

Don't Forget Your Homework

We have more than just books to help you ace those pesky school assignments! Our Resources for Students page has lots of research options you can use any time (including the middle of the night when your paper is due the next day.) All you need is your library card.

The Main Library in Frisco and the South Branch in Breckenridge have study rooms you can reserve and you can even check out stuff like Chromebooks, iPads, video equipment and more at the South Branch.
