Beginning with the 2023-2024 school year, Summit School District (SSD) and the Summit County Library are offering an exciting new opportunity for all students with the One Community One Card Program, an innovative way for students PreK -12th grade and faculty to access public library resources. One Card allows SSD student ID’s to serve as a Summit County Library card. The One Card program is modeled after those being introduced in many communities across the country.
Your student will automatically be enrolled in the Student One Card Program with the Summit County Library during registration.

Summit County Library has signed a data privacy agreement ensuring student information will not be shared with other entities, and that all information will be used for the sole purpose of facilitating library services to students.
What is the One Card program? It’s a cooperative program between the Summit School District and the Summit County Library to provide every student (and faculty member) free access to information and educational resources at the public libraries by using their Student I.D. number.
How does it work? It’s simple. Enrollment in the program is part of the online registration process. The student’s school ID and each SSD faculty ID will work like a public library card at all three Summit County Libraries (North, Main and South) and on www.summitcountylibraries.org.
How does the One Card program support student learning? The public libraries are committed to supporting student learning and academic achievement by providing resources to help them become lifelong learners. One Card simplifies the library card application process and connects students to millions of FREE resources including:

● Extensive research databases for homework
● Language learning tools
● Books, audiobooks, graphic novels, movies and magazines

Are all students eligible for the program? All Pre-K to 12th grade Summit County School District students are eligible.
How much does this cost? It’s free!
What do I need to know about borrowing privileges? The One Card program follows the same guidelines as other library cards at the Summit County Library. Does my child have access to all materials for all ages? Yes. We strongly encourage parents to talk with their children about what is acceptable material to read, listen to or view as Summit County library staff may not decide what children can or cannot check out or access online.
If I want to know what my child has out, will library staff tell me? Library staff take the student's privacy seriously just as they do for adult card holders. Staff may not disclose what is checked out on a Student Library card to anyone other than the child. Parents are welcome to log into the account themselves using their child’s student id number.
How does my child access their library account? Students just need their SSD student I.D. number and password to access their account online at https://summit.marmot.org/MyAccount/Home.
Library Card Number = scl and their student I.D. number.
Password = Their student I.D. number.
When does my child’s account expire? Your child’s account doesn’t expire as long as your child is a student with the Summit County Schools.

How do I access digital resources or check out physical items with my "One Card" ?
You will also use scl + your 7-digit faculty ID number as your library card number. Your password will be your faculty id number.
How do I use "One Card" in my classroom?
Your students will need to have their student id numbers accessible in order to log in remotely to various databases and digital services. Please note: some resources do have a limit such as 5 check outs on Hoopla/Kanopy a month.
What if one of my student's accounts won't log in?
